While many holiday wish lists are filled with the latest gadgets like Wii’s, iPods and iPhones – the top item on my holiday wish list this year is a new handbag. Specifically, I am looking for an everyday classic. One of my favorite brands (designers) for durable everyday bags is Coach. They aren’t a brand you will find discounted at a weekly sale, which means you have to do some searching for a discount.

Coach Chelsea Vintage Leather Satchel Handbag

Bag, Borrow or Steal (best place to get 2 handbags for the price of 1 at full retail).

Chelsea Vintage Leather Satchel (so beautiful!!!) can be rented for $62/month. Regular retail is $458 – I’m looking for this one to go on sale for purchase.

Legacy Thompson Woven Metallic Slim Tote regular retail is $898, but they have “gently carried” ones for $535.

Although not as popular as eBay, Overstock.com has an auction section with a long list of Coach bags on sale. Just as with eBay, I recommend caution when purchasing from auctions. There are many sellers who are individuals and don’t have the generous policies of a retail store. But, you can find new, used and beautiful vintage bags at prices far less than what you would pay retail. My suggestion – do your homework, and purchase only from sellers with lots of positive feedback.

(New) Coach Legacy, Vintage Leather, Camel Leigh Bag has a regular retail price of $658. As of today, the highest bid is only $198.50. I’ll be watching this – could be a steal!!!

COACH HAMPTON ROSE LEATHER CARRYALL SATCHEL TOTE 9290 eBay, the well known auction mogul, has an endless list of Coach bags (some authentic…some not). There are 2 eBay Stores selling Coach bags I want to point out. Both of these particular sellers are also offering FREE SHIPPING.

(new) Bleeker Patent Leather Clutch in brown is listed as a “Buy It Now” for only $159 (item #: 250323100755).

Hampton Leather Carryall in a rose color (item #: 160297854944) – opening bid of only $9.99 (with no reserve price).

Now, the toughest decision is which bag????

Until next Wednesday…
